”Every 14 seconds a child is orphaned in sub- Saharan Africa”( http://www.nyumbani.org/). Due to Aids and HIV. Mostly because the dad had it and passed it on to the mom, so they both die, and there is a big chance that the kid also has HIV or Aids.
About 1.5 million people in Kenya have died of aids. People accuse the Kenyan government for letting the aids children suffer. The aids have been passed down from generation to generation, and spreading easily, from child to child and adult to adult.

ReplyDeleteI think that knowing that a child is orphaned there every 14 seconds really puts the issue in perspective.
ReplyDeleteA child was just orphaned, and we still live our lives, not knowing of the sadness one or more children are experiencing right now.
